StockMap

How it works

How to watch StockMap's engine work, live

The strip at the top of every StockMap page shows the engine at work: how many new insights it has written, the newest one's name and how long ago. When it writes a new one, the name changes where it stands, with no reload. Under that line, a row of small bars shows each new insight of the last four hours.

What you see at the end: The newest insight's name, changed in place

If it doesn’t work

During the nightly run, from 06:00 UTC Tuesday to Saturday for about four hours, the strip reads Tonight's run instead of a name. A hollow grey dot with the word paused means the engine has written nothing for more than 10 minutes.
